Irreclaimable Savage documents dehumanizing language used to describe Indigenous peoples in official U.S. government records. By citing these terms directly from the archive, the project exposes how racism was written into policy and challenges the idea that such attitudes are “not who we are.” Its purpose is to make the evidence public, undeniable, and a catalyst for education and accountability.
